Is this silly?

I think this may be a silly question but here goes. My fiance and I are planning on trying to get preggers right after we get married (in Dec.). I would like to have a child born in a certain month - he thinks I'm silly. So my question is - did any of you try to have your child born in a certain month? Is that (fairly) normal?

I think it's normal for a woman to want to plan the months that she carries. I mean the men don't have to carry a child through the summer months so they they don't indure the heat during the heaviest and most uncomfortable times. I don't think that you're silly at all. Again, this is normal for a woman to plan what months she wants to carry and have the child.

I planned when I was going to have my daughter only cause I didn't want to be huge during the summer!I hate the heat and knew I would be bad off.Of course, after all the problems I had I was induced a month early but thats ok.Instead of that diamond for April she has aquamarine.Of course,my anniversay is Mar.4 and my baby's b-day is smack dab in the middle of my mom and mom-in-laws birthdays which kinda bites. And I am rambling yet again.Sorry.

I would prefer to have them born in certain months, so I would try to aim for that time!

See I have been thinking Spring time (March, April, May) that way I can go out for walks and get out, with out it being darn cold or darn hot. :-)

I am glad to know that I am not alone (and not silly)! I have a 2 month range (sept/oct) but I might have to take your comment under consideration mominator (since we live in the same town) - summer is MISERABLE here - I cannot imagine being preggo in this heat and humidity! I do have an ovulation monitor - sidenote...WHOA - those things are pricey! I guess we'll just have to see how it all works out!

I would like my baby born within a three month range, so I don't think you are silly. (no I am not :prego: ). I know a lot of teachers plan to have their babies in June here in Canada because we get 1 year maternity. So, they finish the school year, have two months off and then an entire year off after that. So it is doable.

I did not plan to have mine a certain month. Once I decided I was ready to try we just tried. I do not think it's a bad idea to plan for a certain month though. I had a Thanksgiving baby and that is hard because it's four weeks away from Christmas, plus it's a holiday and hunting season. :) I would not want to be pregnant through all the summer months again. That's torture. :)

Haha you're so cute! I would probably be the same though! I don't want my kid(s) born in December or January because that's Christmas Time. Yea it's nice, but you totally get the shit end of the stick with presents!!! My poor sis was born JANUARY 1st!!!

I never have. Is there a reason you want them born in a certain month? I know you can probably do it too. You would have to know your cycle really well, to tell when you are ovulating. I got pregnant with my second son because I knew when my body was ovulating and we tried for the whole two weeks. And I did end up pregnant. They do sell ovulating kits too so you can see when it is that you are ovulating and the best time to get pregnant. You can plan it that way. So let's say you wanted to have a baby in February you know the best time to get pregnant would be sometime in May.
