one guinea pig from someone who was being forced to "down size"
and another guinea pig from petsmart (he had been sitting there for months and he was so cute and honestly, i can't say no to anything once they let me hold it)
My dog, Baxter is from a shelter. I got him when he was a year old. He was raised at the shelter. Nobody wanted him because they were afraid he'd get too big. He's my baby. My cat showed up on my doorstep on Halloween and never left. She's all black and we named her Jynx or Jynxy-Poo.
my boyfriend and i decided that for every dog or cat we get at the breeder were going to get a shelter cat or dog. We also decided that were going to be known as the crazy pet couple in the neighborhood. he gave me a limit of 32.
I got my baby at the humane society when he was 8wks old! Someone had taken his mama there, she was pregnant and they didn't want her. So he was born there. Luckily I saw him and wouldn't leave without him. B-Bop is my best friend now and I can't imagine life without him. We've had him almost a year. He's the best little guy I could've asked for.
Before that I had a cat, I think my mom got her from a friend that had kittens. Good ol Jelly lived to be 22 years old, died a few months before I got B-Bop. She was a good cat!
I got my Pucca at the ASPCA in NYC.

I got Asta, he is a wired hair fox terrier, from an animal rescue league. He was abused and he was a dog when I got him. I don't know what exactly happened to him. He does okay now he is 16 years old which is SUPER OLD for a dog but he still runs around and plays and loves his bones and his bed and watching tv.
All three of the cats we've had (one ran away a long time ago) came to us when someone was getting rid of them. Our first, Nala, the one who ran away, we got as a kitten, there was a poster on the wall at a grocery store. Bear we got from another military family who was going to Germany, and they had too many animals to move, so kept the dogs and got rid of their cats, and Princess we got from a couple who was remodeling their house because they were about to have a baby. They had to keep her shut in one room of the house all day because they had a wall torn down and didn't want her to get out, and they didn't think that was fair to her, and I think they weren't sure how she'd act with the new baby since she's kind of a bitch. But she does wonderfully with SweetPea - I think SweetPea is the only person she actually likes. :)
A (former)coworker of mine was visiting her family in South Georgia and found a whole litter of pups that someone had abandoned in the woods :mob: Anyways, she came back to work that monday and asked if anyone wanted a puppy. That was 8 years ago this December.
Oh, hey, I'm even in the puppy family pictures section. That's weird. Second picture of the white Frenchie puppy. That was over a year ago. Little monster's about 20 lbs. heavier now.
Not that I'm trying to push pet stores on anyone (believe me, I fell in love with a couple rescues before deciding to get a puppy and even decided to adopt a shelter dog before somebody beat me to her :(), but if anyone's interested mine came from
jiggy- I crack up everytime I read something about your menagerie!! :D
My mom got Bodhi from one of her co-workers whose dog had puppies. The family took them to a 4th of July parade in a little red wagon & tied ribbons around their necks 7 gave them away. How cute is that? But no-one wanted sweet Bodhi. :( I had been bitching for months about wanting a puppy & I got home on a monday & she was in a box on the front porch!!
